THE FRANK WOOLWINE STORY
MISSION
FRANK'S STORY
Roy Franklin Woolwine, Jr. (Frankie) was killed in a single car accident at 2:00 am on Saturday August 6, 2016. He was 16 years old. He was driving 79mph in a 30mph zone with a .19 blood alcohol level.
Frank had so much to give in life. He was a very happy-go-lucky kid that never met a stranger. He had over eight different high schools represented at his funeral. He loved hanging out with his grandparents, uncles, and cousins. He was a good athlete that had tremendous potential in both football and lacrosse. He was a leader on the field. All that was lost when he made several poor decisions. If he’d just “taken a second” and had given his decisions more thought, he may be alive today.
Frank left behind his dad, stepmother, a little brother, a stepbrother and three stepsisters. I’m sure if he had that day and night back he would make different decisions.
This is where the concept of the Frankie Woolwine Story, Inc came to fruition. As his father, I feel that if we can get kids to stop and take that second to “think,” these types of accidents can be avoided. I know some of his friends are still making “stupid” decisions, but I do feel that by speaking out in the open and keeping his memory alive, they are avoiding getting into vehicles. With your help we can continue our mission.
We exist to urge students to stop and think about the grave consequences of driving under the influence.
We do this by asking them to hear the heartbreaking story of Frankie Woolwine, share it with friends and make the right choice not to get behind the wheel before they take their life and/or someone else’s.
Hear the Story. Share the Story. Choose Your Story.
HELP US BY GIVING TODAY
We exist to urge students to stop and think about the grave consequences of driving under the influence. With your help, we can continue our mission and save lives. Our goal is to reach over 1 million teenagers/young adults and their parents with our message in the next 3 years. Join us in our efforts to get students to stop, think and make the right choice.
To date, we have used the funds to:
•Develop a series of 10- 20-second videos to advertise on social media that teenagers/young adults and their parents use most
•Conduct in-person speeches (before COVID-19) by Frank’s father at local schools and other venues
•Run public service announcements on television stations
•Run public service billboard ads in Richmond and Hampton Roads
•Produce marketing materials through the FW Junior Board to distribute to colleges and High Schools
As much as we have accomplished to date, WE MUST AND WILL DO MORE
With much gratitude,
Roy Woolwine
